Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a great week. I realized I never shared my photos from Williamsburg this year, and thought today would be great to do a little travel post. Some of these you might’ve seen on Instagram if you follow. It’s not a roundup or a guide, but more like a few of my favorite places/things to do in Williamsburg, specifically in the downtown area. Enjoy!
Blue Talon Bistro
In 2015, my mom, sister and I stopped here to check out Blue Talon Bistro, but ultimately didn’t eat there then. This year, we were able to try it after a walk around Colonial Williamsburg for a little bit of exercise. Downtown Williamsburg is located in between the colonial area and William & Mary, so it’s a great location for food, drinks, music, outdoor entertainment, and of course, shopping.
We had this cheese plate to start. I really can’t say no to a cheese plate or a charcuterie board. In fact, I’m happy having a cheese plate for dinner. Following the cheese plate, I had the chicken caesar salad, which was delicious and definitely big enough without making me feel too full. I’d love to try Blue Talon Bistro’s Sunday brunch if I ever have the chance.
If you’re in town, try this for a nice lunch or dinner.
Ocean Palm is a Lilly Pulitzer signature store that we like to visit when we go to Williamsburg. They also carry other preppy brands like Sail to Sable. (I just got lost on their site scouring their clothing while trying to write this.) With all fun patterns and prints, shopping in a Lilly Pulitzer store somehow never gets old. I got this dress and these earrings, and these pants to share with my mom, while we were there.
The Cheese Shop
Another great option for a glass of wine and some snacks! The Cheese Shop has made to order sandwiches, and their homemade dressing is so good. There are specialty foods as well, and overall, it’s a great place to grab a few drinks and a beverage and sit outside and people watch.
While I certainly recommend paying to do anything in Colonial Williamsburg if it’s your first time visiting, we typically only do a tavern now. Here’s the tavern we’ve gone to the past two years that I would highly recommend. You can walk around Colonial Williamsburg for free, which we’ve done the last couple of visits. It’s a great way to get some exercise and check out the historic sites.
