Lessons from Two Years of Blogging

Skipping this week’s “What I’m Into” because we are celebrating two years of A Pop of Pink! I can’t believe how much this little corner of the Internet has grown in what seems like so little time. Blogging each and every week brings me so much joy, and having you along with me is without a doubt the best part.

In honor of two years, I wanted to share a few tidbits I’ve learned from blogging, as well as take a look back at some of my favorite posts from this year.

1. Blogging takes an army.

I couldn’t run this photo without the help of other people. There are so many people behind the scenes, from the people who have taken my photos to those who have helped me keep my site running. Guess what, this girl is NOT good with web development stuff. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of other people, I’m able to do what I love. If you’ve ever helped me with this blog, whether large or small, I can not thank you enough!

2. Someone will always be doing better than you.

Sometimes it seems like everyone blogs, and with such a large community, you can’t help but compare yourself to others. It’s something I’m guilty of doing all the time. It’s tough when you see other people who are doing well, and you feel way behind them. Truthfully, someone will always being doing better than me, and that’s okay. Blogging is something I love to do, and that is always enough.

3. Blogging is a supportive community.

I’ve made so many friends with other bloggers, most of whom I’ve never met! Even when blogging seems competitive, the support of this community is incredible and unlike anything else. Love watching bloggers I love grow and get better, and I always appreciate the support and encouragement I receive back.

There have been so many changes to this blog in just one year. From a new domain, the big switch from Blogger to WordPress, and more. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with great brands and interacting with my readers through comments and on social.

I know that often this blog is about frivolous and materialistic things, but know that the true intention of this blog is always the same: to provide you with the inspiration you may need to look and feel your best. Clothes are just clothes, but if a certain outfit makes you feel great, then you should absolutely rock it.

Thanks for following along! I can’t wait to see what’s next.
