We’ve talked a little before about things we can do to become the best version of ourselves. I’ve shared productivity hacks that help me get through each week, and little lifestyle changes that can have a big impact. (I’m still working on #4, but that’s a different post for a different day.) I firmly believe that anything you do that makes you feel happy should be a part of your regular routine.
Here are the little things I do to treat myself, and ones that maybe you should try too.
A quality manicure
Sounds kind of trivial, right? But I love how good a manicure makes me feel. I instantly feel more confident and put together with a little color on my nails. This is one of those luxuries that I’m willing to spend on. Sure, I don’t go as often as I would like (hello, only two years postgrad), but I’m definitely willing to spend a little on myself because I’m all about the mantra, “When you look good, you feel good.”
I tell people all the time that I think a cup of coffee is like a warm hug. It’s just a good way to start the day. As much as I love my warm lemon water and hot tea, there’s something about the taste of coffee. You’ve heard me say before that I need to ease into my day. A cup of coffee is definitely the “calm before the storm” part of my day.
I talked about my favorite workout before, but this is definitely time where I can give back to myself. Mind you, it’s hard, but I love it. I think finding a workout that you enjoy (and don’t mind spending money on). Definitely recommend you try a class if you have a barre studio in your area.
