Jeans are probably one of the hardest things to shop for. There are so many different cuts, styles, and washes. And then of course there’s the whole issue of fit.
I’m a firm believer that if you find a pair of jeans that works well for you, buy multiples. Madewell jeans are what have worked for me the past few years. I’ve loved every pair of jeans I have ever bought from there, and importantly, they make me feel great. You should always feel good in your jeans.
Once you find a denim company that you love, it’s important to find the style or styles that suit you. Skinny jeans work best for my body type. You won’t ever see me wearing bootcut jeans. They just don’t work for me.
As far as washes go, I recommend that you always have a darker wash in your closet. They can be dressed up or down. It’s harder to dress up lighter washes, but they are great for a casual look.
Jeans with a print can add some fun to your denim collection. This floral pair goes well with a chambray shirt for a simple but put together look.
Madewell may or may not be the denim company for you, but if you’re struggling for a good, quality pair of jeans, consider trying them. Even though quality jeans can get pricey, the good news is that jeans can last for years. My advice, look for deals, but be willing to spend a little more than you would for other pieces in your wardrobe.
