Transitioning your wardrobe from one season to another can be tricky. On the one hand, you may want to hold on to those off the shoulder tops you wore all summer. On the other hand, you’re ready to break out the sweaters and leggings for good. If you’re like me, then you’d rather have one season or the other. I hate the in between.
I find the easiest way to dress for in between seasons is to have both seasons represented in the outfit. For example, in this outfit I wore a cashmere sweater in a color that’s the epitome of fall. But I chose to pair it with my favorite boyfriend shorts, so there’s still a bit of summer in the outfit.
For accessories, neutrals like cognacs and nudes are perfect for year round. Incorporating these colors in your transitional outfits is super easy. How pretty are the cognac and teal paired together?
Wearing: Fossil cashmere sweater (old, similar here) | Rag & Bone shorts (found on eBay here and here) | Tory Burch sandals | Street Level reversible tote | David Yurman ring | NARS lipstick (wearing Roman Holiday)
This outfit incorporates old pieces, like this Fossil cashmere sweater. Take good care of cashmere, and you’ll have it basically for forever. I did link a very similar cashmere sweater for under $100! I’m thinking about this similar crewneck style in the camel color. Cashmere for under $100? Yeah, you can’t beat that.
I also linked to the lipstick I’m wearing in these photos. It’s my favorite, and I wear it every day! NARS is one of my favorite makeup brands, and I love their lipstick. The color I’m wearing is Roman Holiday, and it’s the perfect shade of pink!
I can’t believe that Labor Day is coming up! I’m sure warm weather will be sticking around, but as it starts to cool down, I hope you can find some inspiration from today’s outfit.
Have a great week!
