Styling Bean Boots with a Skirt

Wearing: Ann Taylor sweater (love this affordable option too)| J.Crew Factory skirt (also love this flared skirt) | J.Crew Factory tights (more at J.Crew) | J.Crew Factory bracelet (sold out; similar here) | J.Crew socks (similar here) | L.L.Bean boots (backordered)

I know what you’re thinking. “Ellen, we’ve seen you wear your Bean boots a million times on this blog.” While yes, I’ve worn them a lot (only 999,999 times), I’d be lying if I said I’ve worn other things besides these lately. It is cold. And when it’s cold it snows (blech), and then because it’s so cold, the snow turns to ice. Yikes.

Not only are these necessary for the weather, but they also keep my feet really warm. I’d really be doing my feet an injustice if I didn’t wear them. Don’t get me wrong though, I’d love to be wearing these d’Orsay flats (from this post) right now.

So how did I revamp these Bean boots? With a skirt! Yes, you can wear them with a skirt! I find this look to be chic yet practical, which is especially important during winter. Try styling your winter boots in a different, unexpected way.

At first I was weary when I saw this post because I wasn't sure how I thought about the skirt/bean boot combo but I love how you styled it, such a cute look!

Ugh, I tried to get a pair of Bean Boots a few months ago but they were backordered until March! Craziness! I got a pair of Tommy Hilfiger duck boots instead and I totally rock them with skirts!

I know, crazy! Last time I checked they were backordered until June, but I'm glad you found an alternative. Thanks, Kelly!

Cute look! And I can't blame you- if I had managed to snag a pair of bean boots before they sold out, I'd be wearing them nonstop too!

Thank you, Randi! I don't know if you have an L.L.Bean store near you, but my sister had to get a new size and found a pair at a store.

Hey there would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

I use WordPress! I highly recommend it for flexibility with design and functionality. I hope that helps. Thanks!
