I love when an investment piece that you waited so long to buy turns out to be one of the greatest purchases ever. This Equipment cashmere turtleneck caught my eye for a couple of reasons. First, it’s black, so it goes with everything. (Although I’m just as obsessed with the camel color.) It’s also oversized, which I love.
After debating for so long and hoping it would go on sale, I randomly came across it on eBay, for over 50% off. I took a risk and bought it, and I’m so happy I did. I’ve worn it at least once a week since I’ve gotten it. I would absolutely pay full price for this sweater if I decide to buy it in another color. Goes to show that sometimes waiting on an investment piece can pay off. If you’re on the fence about getting it, check retailers regularly for sales, and eBay if you’re comfortable (read sellers’ reviews). This sweater was on sale on Equipment’s site a couple of months ago, with the exception of the black color.
I’ve worn this outfit a few times, but once I got this crossbody bag, I knew it’d be the perfect accessory when I’m not carrying my work tote. I love the colorful tassels. Such a fun pop of color to an all black outfit. It reminds me of the tassel styles that Rebecca Minkoff carries, but for way, way less. I used this crossbody bag on my ski trip last weekend before shooting these photos, and I can honestly say I love it. Definitely a great quality for a great price. Circular handbags are trending this year. If you’re hesitant to invest in trendy items, this is a great option at only $25.
While I’m definitely hitting that wardrobe rut that always comes around this time of year, this is definitely an outfit I won’t mind wearing over and over until the temperatures warm up. It’s also proof that it’s super easy to mix high end items and budget-friendly pieces. I think doing so often results in the best outfits.
