My Philosophy on Fashion Blogging and Rewearing Pieces

LOFT Sleeveless Sweater

I think there’s an expectation with fashion blogging to always show the newest items, and for good reason. Part of what we do is all about showing trends, and of course, we want to be able to show exact items that you can go and buy immediately. But I think there should be an equal emphasis on demonstrating how to rewear items.

Wearing: LOFT sleeveless sweater (under $25, size down) | Madewell jeans (old, similar) | Tory Burch flats (similar style) | GiGi New York handbag

With the exception of this sweater (which is marked down to $25), all of these pieces featured in this post are pieces you’ve seen numerous times on the blog. Why do I feature them so often? Because I really do wear them a lot in real life, and I want this blog to be a reflection of what I wear every day.

Another reason I like to rewear items is because I know many of us are on a budget. If we’re going to spend a ton of money on something, shouldn’t we want to wear it a lot? A quality pair of jeans? You bet I’m going to rock those as often as I can. This handbag? I was willing to splurge because I knew that it would be an accessory I could wear with almost everything, and the size is perfect for nights and weekends.

Finally, I think it’s important to showcase how to style the same item in different ways. After all, if I’m telling you that it’s really an item you need to add to your wardrobe, you probably want to see its versatility, right? Know that if I wear an item a lot, I really do love it!

I love this little blog of mine, and it’s so fun getting to talk fashion with you every day. If I’m featuring an old item, I’ll always include a similar option so you can easily recreate the look. You’ll continue to see a mix of new items and classics and favorites with each outfit on A Pop of Pink!
