Pink Profile: Laura of Louella Reese

I’m very excited to bring the “Pink Profile” series back for 2015, with Laura of Louella Reese. I’ve been a regular reader of her blog for a while, and she’s just so sweet! Among her many achievements, she co-hosts #MMLinkup, a link-up that takes place on the second Monday of every month. Interested bloggers can visit Laura’s blog and send her an email for more information. They are usually themed and always fun!

Thanks for answering some questions, Laura!

1. What made you decide to start Louella Reese? Where does the name Louella Reese come from? I randomly came across Poor Little It Girl from Pinterest one day and completely fell in love with her blog. I found myself not only wanting but needing to read it every day. I had to see her latest outfit or favorite new lipstick. Through Cathy’s blog I found other blogs that became daily must-reads for me. Then
one day I decided to take the jump! I had a name picked out and thought why not?

2. What is the best part of living in Charlotte, NC? Oh gosh that’s tough! I absolutely love Charlotte. I came here for college and never looked back. I think the thing I love most about Charlotte is that is has all these different little areas {Uptown, NoDa, Elizabeth, Dilworth, Plaza Midwood, Ballantyne} that all have something special to offer. Each area has a very unique feel to it. Also there’s about a million restaurants and new ones popping up daily so this foodie is extremely happy trying new places constantly!
3. How would you describe your sense of style? To me my style includes a lot of variety. A lot of what I wear just depends on my mood that day. Some days I can be a bit on the preppy side or a little more free spirited and boho. Overall though I think I’d say I’m pretty classic. I lean towards pieces that can be worn for years and with a variety of items. I’m definitely quite girly too. I love pink, dresses, softer colors.
4. What’s your must-have wardrobe item or accessory? That’s a toss up between a scarf and a fabulous handbag. I’ve been a handbag gal since the day I was born, which comes naturally as my grandmother had one in every color and for every single outfit. The scarf thing started a few years ago and  now I rarely leave the house without one. In the winter you will not spot me without one! Blanket scarves are my absolute favorite.
5. What is one fashion trend you wish would go away? Oh my goodness. Those TERRIBLE 90s Adidas type sandals that seem to be coming back in style. I’m sorry but I think they are just hideous and not very flattering. So in my opinion that trend could not go away fast enough.
6. You and Corbin of The Classy South have a great blogger friendship and collaborate often. How did you two get connected? Any advice for maintaining blogger friendships? Yes she is absolutely my blogger bestie and I am so beyond thankful for her! Corbin actually found me through a hashtag {#ncblogger} on Instagram. She came to Charlotte a few weekends after we had talked initially, and we did a little photo shoot together and the rest is history.

For advice I’d say make sure it’s someone you can really trust as you’re talking about your brand with them almost on a daily basis. Corbin is someone I know I can trust till the end of time. After that just be super honest with each other. If you loved her post tell her, share it, comment, give her blog some love. If your bouncing ideas off each other for future posts be sure to tell her what you really think. Be able to laugh at each other and yourself! Corbin and I text each other weekly with silly things we did or what we absolutely cannot figure out {I can’t make buttons to save my life}.

7. What is one thing that you wish you knew when you first started blogging? Honestly it’s been an amazing learning experience and each hurdle I’ve had to jump over has taught me so much. Louella Reese has introduced me to some of my favorite people, given me incredible opportunities to work with some amazing brands, and has made me grow so much. Of course I wish I knew a little more about html and all that jazz but besides that I don’t think I’d change a thing!

8. What do you envision for Louella Reese in 2015? Louella Reese is my true passion so I’d love to see the blog grow a great amount this year. In the past year I’ve become so dedicated to it and seeing that dedication pay off would be amazing. To continue to work with incredible brands and possibly collaborate with a few of my favorite bloggers.

9. Where do you see yourself in five years? In my dreams I see Louella Reese becoming my full-time job. Seeing as it is my true passion and how much I have come to love blogging, if I could do that full-time I would be one extremely happy gal. If that’s not possible then I hope to be doing something I truly love. To enjoy work everyday and be surrounded by people I love. Plus I’ll be 30 in five years {terrifying} and I think by then I should really have things figured out, right? 🙂
