One Dress, Two Ways: Part Two

Yesterday I showed a more casual way to style this dress, and today I’m dressing it up simply by switching out accessories. I think it’s important to find ways to make your clothing versatile, especially if you’re a 20-something like me that needs to save her money.

Wearing: Madewell dress | Kate Spade purse (sold out, similar here) | Target wedges | David Yurman bracelet | Madewell necklace | Tory Burch earringsRay-ban wayfarers

As part of my attempt to save, I’m really thinking about what I want to spend my money on in terms of clothes and accessories. I’d rather save up for something that’s a little more pricey if it means that I’ll have it for awhile. I just think it’s better than splurging on pieces that I’ll only wear for a season.

I received this David Yurman bracelet as a graduation gift, and I absolutely love it. I know I’ll wear it all the time, especially since it has both gold and silver in it. I’d like to save up for another one, again, because I know it’s a timeless piece of jewelry that I’ll have forever.

What are your favorite items to save for? What are you willing to spend a little more on?

Thanks so much, Corbin! Every time I receive a compliment on that bag, I always say it's one of the best pieces I've ever purchased.

Love this dress! The fact that it has pockets is amazing. I always feel so awkward when my hands are just hanging by my side, having pockets gives me something to do with them.

Dresses with pockets are so great. I'm with you though; my hands are always awkward. Thanks, Alyssa!

TOTALLY agree on investing in pieces you'll have for a while! Love this look – it's definitely "age appropriate" in a mature way!

Thank you so much, Dana! Especially now that I'm a graduate, I'm all about simplicity and making sure I'm investing in things that I'll love for awhile.

Both outfit ways were something I could see myself wearing. LBD's are perfect because there are so many ways to accessorize!

Yes! There is really no end when it comes to LBDs. Totally justifies buying one (or two). Thanks for reading, Alex!
