GiGi New York Madison Crossbody Review

Back with another handbag review! I’ve become quite the handbag addict, but I really do think the accessories can make the outfit. Read on for my review of the newest handbag in my collection. And of course, comment on this post or email me with any additional questions you have about this bag!

GiGi New York Madison Crossbody Bag

This has been my go-to bag as of late, and for good reason! The cognac color matches everything, and I can carry just enough without feeling like I’m carrying too much.

I chose this bag because I had been wanting a cognac crossbody as an everyday, casual bag for the weekends. My crossbody is very similar to this bag. Because of the price of the GiGi New York one, I had been debating purchasing the other handbag, but I didn’t like the leather tag that hung on the bag. I was able to score the GiGi New York bag during a great site sale, so that ultimately pushed me to buy this bag.

For reference, this bag is slightly larger than the other one I referred to, but it is about double the price.

Bag Features

Pros

Like my Rebecca Minkoff MAB Tote Mini, this bag fits a lot for it being a small bag. It might even fit more because the leather is softer and more flexible. I was able to fit my wallet/phone case, two sunglasses (with cases), keys, phone, and a phone charger in the bag. The dimensions of the bag (according to the GiGi New York website) are 7 1/2″ W x 5 1/2″ H x 2 3/4″ D. I think the depth is what makes it easy to carry several things in a relatively small bag.

I also like that it has a small side pocket, so if you really don’t want to dig for something, there’s a spot to put it.

It’s a little detail, but I always like when a bag has an adjustable strap!

While this is an investment bag, I find the quality and durability to be absolutely perfect and well worth the price. The pebble grain leather holds up so well. If I had an unlimited budget, I’d get this periwinkle one!

Cons

The only real con about this bag is the price; however, it is leather. But, it’s certainly not a budget-friendly crossbody.

Cost and Where to Buy

The crossbody retails for $225 on the GiGi New York website. You can also find several colors at Saks Fifth Avenue, which I linked in the widget at the end of this post.

If you sign up for GiGi New York emails, you get a 10% discount on your next purchase! So you can automatically get the bag at a discounted price. I also like getting the emails, as they frequently have sales. It’s how I got this bag!
