If you read the blog on a regular basis, you know my love for Madewell runs deep. I also featured this embroidered dress last summer and can’t wait to wear it again this summer. And shocker, I fell in love with another Madewell piece…
When I visited the store, they had the dress styled with this necklace, and I’m not sure I would’ve been drawn to it if the necklace wasn’t with it. I think it adds the perfect delicate detail to the outfit, so naturally I had to buy the necklace too.
Looking back on these photos, I love the red necklace next to the denim jacket. The two colors together totally work!
This dress is so soft and has the right amount of stretch. For reference, I sized down to an extra small because of the swing style of the dress. If you’re in stores, I’d definitely recommend trying on both sizes to be sure of which one works for you.
In the summer I’m all about easy looks, and this dress certainly fits the bill. To take this dress from day to night, swap the sandals for wedges and ditch the denim jacket. You could also opt for this Clare V. clutch instead of the tote. I feel like with warm weather, spontaneous plans (like happy hours) are bound to happen, so dressing with the idea of going from day to night is important. But if the main focal point of your outfit is a dress alike this Madewell one, then it’s super easy to transition from work to play.
