Leopard is Definitely a Neutral

Photos courtesy of Ryan Dougherty

I won this scarf through a giveaway with Corbin of The Classy South and Bellavie Boutique. Side note, I never win anything. I have the worst luck. I was so excited to receive this scarf in the mail. I knew it would be the perfect scarf for mixing patterns, which I’ve been trying to do more lately.

Wearing: Banana Republic shirt (similar here and here) | Urban Outfitters jacket (similar here) | Bellavie Boutique scarf (love this) | Madewell jeans (similar here and here) | Steve Madden combat boots

I love that there are two patterns in this scarf, the leopard and the geometric pattern, and I think it pairs well with the striped shirt. If you’re nervous about mixing patterns like me, start with finding patterns that include the same color. Both the scarf and shirt have black in it, so they complement each other. I’ve shared a similar scarf that would be perfect to try with pattern mixing. Remember what the brilliant Jenna Lyons once said, “Leopard is a neutral.” So find your favorite leopard piece, and rock it.
