This is absolutely my favorite time of year. It’s chilly in the air, but not too cold that I’m worried about walking around in subzero temperatures. I broke out the Uggs for the first time this weekend and wore them to barre. I was maybe a little too excited. I also love the anticipation of the holiday season. I think I love it more than when the holidays actually arrive, because then they are over! I was downtown this weekend, and many stores have their holiday displays out. Such a great time of year!
I love how these photos turned out. This was a great day to shoot as it was sunny, but fall was definitely in the air. Or in the case of the photo above, on the ground. I felt comfortable walking around in this plaid shirt, which I’ll talk about more at the end of this post. But, I didn’t need an additional layer. Plus, I had this delicious vanilla chai latte to keep me warm. Chai lattes are my go-to drink when I want something warm with a little less caffeine.
Now after reading the title of this post and seeing these photos you might be thinking, “Ellen, this is just a plaid shirt.” Yeah, it is. But you know what? I love it. It’s lightweight, which makes it easy to wear without breaking into a sweat. Real talk. Does anyone else bundle up, then get into their car and start sweating because they’re too hot?
Back to this shirt. It’s also a boyfriend fit, which I can’t resist. For sizing reference, I’m wearing a size 4, which gives me room without being too oversized. I also love this similar plaid shirt from J.Crew’s sister brand, Madewell. I feel like I always put an oversized plaid shirt on my Christmas wish list, but I’m definitely thinking about adding that one to my list. You can never have too many plaid shirts, right?
