How to Decorate Your Bar Cart for the Holidays

Holiday Bar Cart

I’m so excited to be sharing an updated version of my bar cart for the holiday season. I may not have my other holiday decorations figured out for the rest of my apartment yet, but you can bet my bar cart was done before Thanksgiving. It’s been so fun to give it a refresh for Christmas, and today I’m sharing three easy tips to get your bar cart holiday-ready. Plus, I have some suggestions for items to add to your bar cart!

Who’s ready to come over to celebrate?!

Choose holiday colors and patterns

This sounds simple, but the first step to making your bar cart a fit for the holidays is making sure you have the right colors. As much as I love my bright pinks and Lilly Pulitzer prints on my bar cart, Tartans, plaids, and gold look great if you’re going for a Christmas theme. My two favorite items on this bar cart might be the gold straws and the tartan appetizer plates.

I also swapped out my bright and yellow dish towel for something more festive like this reindeer dish towel.

Add a seasonal plant

I found this fake plant at Home Goods and knew it was something I’d incorporate onto my bar cart or somewhere else in my apartment. I love the idea of adding something “living” to a bar cart, like a small green plant or a set of flowers. I love that this one fits the holiday/winter theme with the cherries and pinecones.

Pop the champagne

Rather than wine glasses, I wanted to go with champagne flutes for my holiday-themed bar cart. While you can certainly drink champagne throughout the year, there’s something about drinking it at the holidays that makes it extra special. I found both sets of flutes at Home Goods, and they range between $3-7 per glass. I chose to go with ones that had gold touches for an extra special touch.

Obviously, you’ll want to make sure your champagne is chilled and on ice well before you serve!

Most of the items featured above are from Home Goods, but I rounded up some similar items and other bar cart essentials, like this fun cocktail shaker!
