New Closet Staple: Faux Leather Jacket

Cupcakes and Cashmere Faux Leather Jacket

First of all, I have to give a shoutout to my Pitt Panthers, who beat #2 Clemson in Death Valley on Saturday. No one saw that coming. WHAT A WIN! Should make for a fun time in Pittsburgh next weekend.

Now onto the outfit. A faux leather jacket was a wardrobe staple that was missing from my closet until about a month ago. I truly believe they have the same versatility as a denim jacket. Wear with a dress, jeans, leggings, you name it. Now certainly if you want to splurge for a leather jacket, then go for it, but I’ve found you can get the look at a fraciton of the price.

Wearing: Cupcakes & Cashmere faux leather jacket | Cabi shirt | Zella leggings | Steve Madden boots | Kate Spade bag (old, similar here and here) | Ray-Ban aviators | David & Young leopard beanie (sold out) | Baublebar monogrammed necklace

This look is maybe a little out of my comfort zone in terms of what I would usually wear, but I plan to get a lot of use out of this jacket on nights out. I love it with a pair of jeans and black riding boots, but I think this edgy look works well too. If you’re worried a black leather jacket might be too edgy for you, I’d recommend trying it in a different color. The one I’m wearing also comes in a blush pink color that’s a little more feminine.

Another faux leather piece I added to my wardrobe this year is this BB Dakota dress, which is currently on sale for less than $50! That’s insane. I’m still going back and forth on a pair of faux leather leggings, but I think the right outfit could convince me to get a pair.

What faux leather pieces are you loving?

They’re a great legging! I also really like the J.Crew pixie pants, but they’re a little pricier. Although I think J.Crew Factory has a similar, more budget-friendly pair.

Oh man, I’m such a huge fan of faux leather jackets for fall, and this one is super cute. I’m also loving your fun beanie – I think my local blogger bestie has the same one! Totally perfect autumn look.

Thanks, Stephanie! Can’t wait to wear this jacket more. And I got the beanie last year, and it was less than $10! Wish it was still available.

I don’t have a leather jacket, but I did get a leather/sweater hybrid and I TOTALLY see what all the hype is about a good leather jacket! It really can elevate any outfit!

I completely agree, Alissa! I didn’t quite get it at first, but now I do. And they’re so fun to wear. Thanks for stopping by!
