Three Fall Wardrobe Staples to Buy Now

I know, I know, it’s crazy to think about buying fall clothing when it’s so hot and humid. Seriously, I am so sick of the heat. But hear me out: it’s actually a great time to buy your fall wardrobe staples before things sell out. It’s a topic I’ve touched on a few times, most recently during the #NSale, but I always like to highlight the transition from summer to fall in terms of fashion. So today, I’m sharing three wardrobe staples that I promise you can invest in now, and have for years to come. These are also items you’ve seen me style on numerous occasions on the blog, and ones that you’ll continue to see me wear.

I’d also love to hear what fall wardrobe staples you’re thinking of buying, or ones you might’ve already purchased!

Fall Wardrobe Staples

1. Bean Boots

You’ll definitely want to stock up on a pair of L.L.Bean Boots now. Wait any longer, and you risk getting your boots in spring 2017. They only come in whole sizes, so if between sizes, I definitely recommend sizing down. You’ll want room for your camp socks after all. Read more about Bean Boots (and get style inspiration) in this post from last year. For reference, I have this pair, and they’ve held up very well the last few years while also keeping my feet warm. To sum it up, these are worth every penny.

2. Lightweight Jacket

Another item you’re going to want to have by the time the temps drop is a lightweight but warm jacket. My army green jacket has gotten me through a lot of brisk days. You can find some great jackets at great price points, but again, you’ll regret waiting to buy one, as these often sell out. The good news is that you can often score a jacket at a discount during end of summer sales.

3. Puffer Vest

Similar to a jacket but equally as important (and stylish), is a great puffer vest. J.Crew Factory has brought the herringbone vest back once again, and the price point is the lowest I’ve seen. In other words, jump on it while it’s still available! It goes with everything. Pair it with plaid for a super easy way to mix up prints. I also love athletic puffer vests to throw on after barre or a yoga class.
