Three Must-Have Boots for Cold Weather

Hunter Boots

Boots are a must for colder weather. I don’t think I have to explain why. Investing in a few great pairs of boots that you can reach for no matter the outfit or weather is crucial. For example, in college I learned quickly that Hunter boots are good for rainy or cold days, but not good for icy days. And if I need to minimize the risk of falling, I’m putting on duck boots. And for those days where I don’t have to sacrifice fashion for function, riding boots are easy peasy.

Because of this, I’m declaring these three types of boots to be the only boots (and probably shoes) you need to get through the upcoming months: riding boots, rain boots, and duck boots.

Ann Taylor Riding Boots

Riding boots

Pair with sweaters and a great pair of denim, or your favorite knit dress. Seriously, these boots go with anything. I love a classic brown or black pair. If you only need one pair, I recommend brown, as it will go with anything, including all black outfits.

Rain boots

I recommend Hunter rain boots and find them to be worth every penny. Mine have help up for several seasons now. With so many colors to choose from, it’s hard to pick just one! I recommend the classic black like this pair that I own. Size down if you are a half size.

LLBean Boots

Duck boots

While L.L.Bean boots are my personal favorite, they are typically backordered this time of year, so I’m including styles from other brands that are just as great. Heck, many look like they are from L.L.Bean.

  • Great picks! I live in all of those. I find Bean Boots have better soles for wintery conditions. But love my Hunters just as much!

Me too! If I could wear them both whenever without having to consider the weather to be a factor, I would.
