I love to travel, and my favorite place to go is definitely the beach. With the sound of the waves crashing and the sand in between my toes, there really is no better place to be. One of my favorite places to visit is the Outer Banks (pictured above). I also loved visiting Hilton Head in South Carolina, and I really want to go back there.
Many people talk about traveling outside of the United States (don’t get me wrong there are a ton of places in Europe that I desperately want to see), but there are many great places here too. I decided to put together a few places that are on my list of American destinations that I want to visit. There’s a whole lot of America I have yet to see!
Charleston, South Carolina
After watching “Southern Charm” on Bravo, I think it only made me want to visit this city even more. I love everything about the South, and I have heard nothing but good things about Charleston. Everyone down there is so friendly and warm, how could you not want to visit?
Again, another southern town. During a trip to Hilton Head a few summers ago, we met people who said they took a day trip to Savannah and loved it. This quaint city has a lot of charm and history, as does Charleston.
There is a lot of music, art, and culture in the city of Austin. There are so many cool cities in Texas, but I think this would be the first city in the state I’d want to check out. I think Kate of A Lonestar State of Southern has just made me want to go to Texas even more.
Newport, Rhode Island
There are some great beach towns in New England that I would have never been to. Newport looks like the cutest, preppiest seaside town. I’d love to go there and enjoy some seafood. I tried lobster once and didn’t really like it that much, but everyone says that it’s so good. I may just have to give it another try.
There are so many more places I’d love to visit in America, but these are just some of them. I’m heading to Delaware and Virginia at the end of the week for vacation, and I can’t wait. Sometimes I think I could live out of a suitcase, but I’m an overpacker and and my wallet isn’t big enough. Maybe one day.
If you’ve been to these places or have other suggestions of must-see American cities/towns, I’d love to hear! Thanks for stopping by!
