An army green jacket, field jacket, mechanic jacket, or whatever you call it, is one of the best wardrobe pieces you can have in my opinion. In fact, I included it last year as one of my fall wardrobe staples. Why?
Let’s start with the color. Army green is totally a neutral. Wear it with stripes, leopard, or just about any color, and I promise you, it will look good. I dare you to find something that won’t look good with it.
Throwback to super long hair!
Okay, maybe Lilly Pulitzer shift dresses and army green jackets don’t miss…but I think that’s the only exception!
These jackets also tend to be lightweight, which is perfect for me. I’m that girl that can be cold outside, and then break out into a hot flash as soon as I walk into a store that’s heated. A field jacket allows me to layer without sweating to death. Who’s with me?
As you begin to do your fall shopping–or maybe you’ve already started–consider adding an army green or field jacket to your wishlist. It’s even something you can wear now, like I did here with my boyfriend shorts.
So, have I convinced you yet?
I included 10 different styles of army jackets below, and even snuck a camo jacket in there. There are options at every price point, but I had to add this BB Dakota jacket on Nordstrom Rack that I found at the last minute. It’s still available in most sizes. And guess what? It’s $32. No, that’s not a typo. I also love this Cupcakes and Cashmere jacket is included in the widget below. And you can’t go wrong with this field jacket from J.Crew. It’s a classic they bring back year after year, and for good reason.
Do you have an army green jacket? How do you style it?
