This weekend is the big move! I’ve slowly been buying stuff and getting excited about decorating. I won’t have everything when I move in, unfortunately, so it will be awhile before you see the full reveal. Luckily, I am bringing my bedroom furniture, so it’s filling up my living room that has been my priority.
I thought it’d be fun to share what I’ve purchased so far. Maybe you’ll get some ideas for where to look for furniture and decor finds.
What I’ve gotten
Everyone gave me some great advice when I shared that I was moving to invest in a good couch. What I love about this couch from Pottery Barn is that it has a reversible storage sectional, so I can adjust the chaise to either side. Then, you’re also not stuck with arranging furniture a certain way to fit your room. Again, I know this isn’t necessarily for every budget, but I’m hoping it will be worth it.
I also got this desk that I’m going to use as a table. Again, cool to know that I can turn it into a desk later if I want.
I’ve also gotten some budget-friendly finds! I also purchased a huge ottoman from Home Goods at a great price. Now that I’ll be renting and decorating my own space, I fully understand the magical power of Home Goods. I also found some fake white roses and a ginger jar at Home Goods. Will definitely make frequent visits for cute accessories. And of course, I had to get this coffee table book and this one.
There’s a whole lot that I haven’t bought yet. Kitchen items? Yeah, I have none of that.
On my wishlist
- Bar stools. Gotta have somewhere to sit at the table! – Update: After searching high and low, I ultimately ended up purchasing these bar stools from Target. I love them and plan to order more!
- An ottoman tray! I’m kind of picky about this one. Don’t want to spend too much, but also haven’t found one yet that I love. – Update: My dear friend got me this tray, and I love it!
- More lighting!
- Bar cart. Maybe some day? Again, very much a want and not a need.
Trying to remind myself that decorating is a process and doesn’t need to be done all at once. Wish me luck on my move! Can’t wait to share more with you soon.
