This weekend I traveled to Pittsburgh for my boyfriend’s birthday. When deciding where we were going to stay, I knew that I wanted to be somewhere that was convenient and close to dining and other activities. I ended up choosing the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel and loved it so much that I wanted to share a little bit about it with you here. As an FYI, I was not paid for this post. I’m simply choosing to share my experience with you! Continue Reading
I definitely believe in the idea that great weekends lead to great weeks. Last weekend was full of relaxing, a little bit of sunshine, and quality “me” time. Sunday I went to my favorite Body Flow class, which mixes pilates, yoga, and Tai chi. I also got ahead on blogging work in preparation for the week. If you didn’t notice, I updated the “Shop” page and even added two other sections, dedicated to athleisure wear and spring picks. Click above to browse and shop, after you finish reading this post, of course.
Overall, February has felt like a busy month and yet super slow at the same time. After a weekend at home, I’m back to traveling. This time I’m heading to Pittsburgh. Anyone who reads this blog or knows me well knows that Pittsburgh is my favorite city, and it’s where I spent my college years. To say the least, it holds a very special place in my heart. My boyfriend and I will be trying Butcher and the Rye, which I’ve heard is one of the city’s best restaurants. If you’ve ever been, I’d love to know what you think (and what I should eat)!
Anyone who has read this blog knows how much I love J.Crew. I always look to them for adorable striped shirts, cozy sweaters, and perfectly broken in chino shorts. Seriously though, I think I buy at least one pair of shorts every summer. They’re the best! I figured, why not make this week’s “Currently Coveting” all about J.Crew!
Their new arrivals have me swooning and ready for spring. I love the pastels, gingham and stripes for the warmer temperatures. There’s always something exciting about clothing for the new season, but I think especially when transitioning from winter to spring. Let’s face it, wearing a parka every day can get pretty exhausting, right?
Let’s talk about few of my favorites featured above.
While I don’t have this exact pair of the Martie pant, I do have them in another color, and I can’t say enough good things about them. I love the skinny ankle pant for work. As I’ve mentioned before, I basically don’t wear anything except for skinny pants and the occasional boyfriend. If you work in a casual office environment, this print is perfect. Plus, I think the gingham can easily work for a summer night with dinner al fresco.
As I mentioned, I love J.Crew stripes. Who doesn’t need a striped shirt, or five? Love this new style of bigger and bolder stripes. I ordered two of these during a recent J.Crew haul, but I’m thinking maybe I have to try this other style.
The lilac color of these Cece ballet flats is what made me fall in love. I know Cece flats were loved by many J.Crew fans, but they changed the way they were made and many people felt they weren’t the same. It appears that the latest Ceces are closer to the beloved originals.
My fellow J.Crew lovers, what are you loving from the new arrivals?
I’m recapping my (mini) trip to Disney World today! My mom had a conference and asked if I wanted to tag along and head down for a long weekend, and of course I jumped on the chance. I’ll take any reason to go some place warmer than Pennsylvania in February, but Disney World?! Well, there was no way I was going to say know. I shared what I wore last week, but I wanted to share more photos with you today. Most of these are actually from my iPhone, but I love how they turned out!
The last (and only) time I was in Disney World was in middle school, so it was fun to go back and just be a kid again.
I made sure to include links to everything that we did, so if you’re planning a trip for now or in the future, you can use this post to help plan your itinerary! Continue Reading
