Today’s post is a break from the usual “What I’m Into” posts that you’ve come to expect on Fridays. But part of the reason that I love this blog is that I can share bits of my personal life with all of you.
This weekend (beginning tonight), I’ll be graduating from the University of Pittsburgh. I have had the best four years of my life here, and this place has become my second home. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sad about graduating, because truthfully, I really am. I’ve met lifelong friends, worked my butt off, and made great memories.

Anyone else have a parent or grandparent who always wonders why you paid money for jeans with holes in them?
Distressed denim wasn’t something I was always a fan of, but now I absolutely love it. Can’t get enough of it. Once my bank account grows, I’d love to add a pair of white and black distressed jeans to my wardrobe.
The key is to make distressed denim tasteful and put together. My favorite combo is distressed denim and a blazer. Another tip is try them on in the store. The distressing and holes might look different on you than how they appear on a model or mannequin.

If one could have a spring weekend look, this would be mine. It’s comfortable enough for running errands or grabbing lunch with friends, but I still feel put together. Really, I’ll find any excuse to wear these sneakers.
