Too Cool for School + Guest Post

I can’t believe that in less than a month I’ll be back at school. This summer is flying by! I’ll admit I’m a little hesitant to go back and start senior year! The truth is, I’m just not ready for college to be over.

But we’ll save that for another day. Let’s talk a bit about campus style. If you’ve ever been on a college campus, chances are you’ve seen people in sweats and pajamas, especially if you’re sitting in a lecture at 8:00 a.m. While I totally understand the desire to wear pajamas to class, you’ll never see me wear pajamas.

We all have those days, even fashion bloggers, when we just don’t want to put in a lot of effort to look good. I definitely like to dress well for class when I have the time and motivation. I wore this outfit for a date night, but I would totally wear this outfit at school when it’s still warm outside, or for a fun night out with my friends.

This outfit post was taken at Franklin & Marshall College, a college in my hometown. Continuing with the college theme, I’m excited to announce that I’m guest posting on Jen’s blog, Confessions of a Prepster today. I’m sharing the lessons I’ve learned at college thus far. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think!

A big thank you to Jen for giving me the opportunity to share my experiences with her readers! Stay tuned for another guest post about how to deal with stress at school on Ally’s blog, Pretty Little Lesbian, on Sunday.
If you’d like to guest post for A Pop of Pink, or would like me to write for your blog, send me an email with your ideas! I look forward to chatting with you!

What I’m Into Volume 4

It’s Sunday morning, but of course I’m awake at 7 a.m. Does anyone else have the problem of not being able to sleep in on days when you don’t have to set an alarm? Ugh. Anyway, I figured if I can’t sleep, I might as well blog. I haven’t done a “What I’m Into” post in a while. We’ll keep it short and sweet.
  • I loved this quote from Brighton’s blog. I always love a little dose of inspiration.
  • Australian Iced Coffee. I tried it yesterday at this great restaurant in Lancaster City. It had ICE CREAM in it, folks! Here is a recipe for it. Top it with whipped cream and cocoa powder. Delish.
  • I bought the latest issue of Vogue with Blake Lively on the cover. I’ve loved her since Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and of course, Gossip Girl. In this video, Blake answers 73 personal questions about herself. Warning: you might want a cupcake after you watch it.
  • I ordered Mackenzie’s shorts for Krass & Co. Can’t wait for these stylish, preppy athletic shorts to arrive.
Stay tuned for what’s to come on the blog this week, including my fun Saturday with my mom, in which I scored a Tory Burch tunic for 70% off! As I told my mom yesterday, “Clothes shouldn’t make me this happy, but I’m really happy.”

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Collaboration: Flower Power Two Ways

Wearing: Banana Republic peplum top (similar here) | J. Crew Factory pants | Express wedges (old) | Fossil watch | Ray Ban wayfarers | Stella & Dot earrings
I’m so excited to collaborate with Steph of In the Valley today! She has the dress version of these pants, so it was almost meant to be that we do a collaboration. Below is a sneak peek of how she styled it. Head on over to her blog to check out her entire outfit post!

J. Crew Factory featured this print in a top, skirt, dress (as seen on Steph), shorts, cardigan, pants and a bikini. Yes, even a bathing suit!

This print is bold, but it’s certainly fun, so I was glad when I had the opportunity to feature these pants again, which are currently on sale. Last time I wore them, I threw on a pink cardigan and a plain white tee. You could also bring out the black in the flowers with a black blazer or black wedges. Really, the options are endless with these pants. Just keep it simple on the top and let the pants speak for themselves. They definitely deserve to do all of the talking.
